- What is the DSU Club do?
- The DSU Supports students & faculty who either have a limitation, or have the disire to learn more about the challenges faced by those who have a disability. By providing seminars, guided tours to new students, forums for passing on tips and techniques used by other students, and providing assistance in solving problems faced by students with disabilities.
- How do you support students with disabilities?
- The DSU supports students by providing learning aides such as testing supplies, recording equipment, interactive trips, and a forum to voice concerns. wWe also provide a voice to correct accessibility issues and discrimination problems at DeAnza.
- Who is eligible to become a member of the Disabled Students Unlimited Club?
- Anyone who is interested in providing assistance, or support students who require assistance
in achieving their goals at DeAnza. Any student or faculty who has a limitation, or wants to learn more
about those who have a limitation.
- How do I become a member of the DSU?
- To become a member of the DSU, simply go to the Guestbook page by clicking on the link on the lefthand panel, fill out the form, and click on the submit button the bottom of the form to send it to the DSU Secratary. and you will be added to the club roster.
- What are the duties of a club member?

- All club members must attend at least one ( 1 ) meesting a month, be available to help with club events, assist in fundraising, and be a DeAnza student.

- What if I cannot attend a meeting due to an emergency or class time conflicts?
- We would like to see all the members at our meetings, but we know there will be mor important obligations. If a member cannot attend a meeting, We would like to ask for an e-mail sent to the club so we can send out any important information to the members regarding club business. If we don't see members showing up for scheduled meetings, we will assume the member is not interested in staying active and place them in the inactive member roster.
- How does the DSU raise funds for its' needs?
- The DSSU raises funds by hosting a drink stand at several flea markets throughout the year. We also hold a flea market space once a year to sell donated items. The club will also be selling T-shirts with the club logo ( $20.00 ).
- Are thete any club dues?
- Yes, club dues are $5.00 a quarter, or $15.00 for a school year. ( Fall / Summer )
- What are the dues used for?
- Club dues are used to purchase supplise for students, provide materials for disabled services, cover costs incurred in planning & coordinating trips for members, and other financial needs of the club.
- How much does it cost to attend a trip planned by the DSU?
- Most trips will be either free or a small fee ( Usually $10.00 for day trips) will be collected to offset some of the costs incurred in travelling to some locations. Multi-day trips will be somewhat higher depending on the location and othe contingencies. ( Camping trips will be around $50.00 ).....

- Who can go on DSU trips?
- Any DeAnza student who is a member in good standing of the DSU club, or who is a caregiver to a student who is a DSU club member. Any faculty member who is either invited, or shows intereest in attending a club function.
- How does the DSU travel to their trip destinations?
- The DSU uses a district owned passenger vehicle ( 25 person capacity ) to travel to all trip destinations. The van is operated by our advisor, Tom Beggs. Tom is licenced and has his first aid certification. He has been providing his time to our group for many years.
- Are the DSU trips handicapped accessable?
- Yes, All DSU trips are fully accessable to those who are mobility challenged. In addition, our van has the capibility to carry wheelchair bound members. We do ask if while on the trip, can you use a manual chair, as space is usually limited.
- Can I drive myself on a DSSU function?
- Yes, there is a required form which waives liability from injury if you wish to operate your own vehicle on any DSU trips.
